The Dreamer

Arun Bohra was destined to design jewelry. Born in Jaipur to a family who has been in the jewelry business since 1841, jewelry is his blood, his culture, and his heritage. But fate works in funny ways.

You see, Arun would never have been content simply following the same path as the generations of jewelers who came before him. So as a young man he rebelled: leaving India for Japan. During his time in Tokyo, he developed a keen eye for fine and rare exotic gemstones and developed a deep appreciation for the emphasis on perfection in Japanese design. This would form the foundation of his aesthetic—one that revels in stark simplicity and exquisitely crafted details, all while seeking out the unusual.

After returning to India and falling in love with his wife Ashita, Arun embarked on his second great rebellion. Together with Ashita, he left India, the family, business, and the safety of his known world to found behind to found ArunAshi.

In the twenty years since that leap of faith, Arun has established himself as more than just a jewelry designer. He’s become an alchemist. He’s a master with the ability to take the elements of the earth, and by processing them through his unique perspective, creating breathtaking and deeply meaningful works of art. Known for his bold use of colored gemstones, visionary application of mixed mediums, and a wicked sense of humor, Arun’s work for ArunAshi is coveted by collectors and has shaped the modern fine jewelry landscape.
